If your flowers do not arrive in a vase, you will need to place them into a clean one as soon as possible to prevent them from wilting. Select a vase that is approximately half the height of the flowers. Fill the vase with lukewarm water and flower food or a small amount of sugar and allow it to dissolve; only fill the vase approximately halfway – the water must not cover the leaves.
- Cut the stems at a diagonal angle and remove any leaves that could end up under the waterline as well as any wilting leaves, stems, or flowers. Add fresh water every two to three days and replace the water around the fifth day, sooner if the water becomes murky, and remove any wilting parts.
